Ambleside Climbing Wall Is Reopening!

We now have climbing bookable from the 25th available online, Click here!

To come for a climb we are now offering 2hr unsupervised climbing time slots that can be booked for the main wall, and the bouldering wall. We are also offering one hour instructed sessions. all this can be booked online at

The staff at Ambleside Climbing Wall are doing everything they can to keep your time at our Centre safe and enjoyable. This means regular cleaning, capacity management and pre-bookable time slots, but to keep you safe and the wall open we will need your help!

First of all, if you’re feeling ill please stay away! As with all business and public sites, if you’re feeling unwell just don’t go!

When arriving at our Centre please make sure you are ready to climb, bringing with you only the gear you will need to climb. So do get ready at home, or If you need to get changed please do this in your car.

You will need to sanitize your hands with the hand sanitizer provided as you enter the reception, and keep your social distance from any other customers and our staff who will guide you through our registration process.

During your visit we ask you to keep your social distance from all other wall users and staff who are not in your bubble and regularly sanitise your hands between climbs.

In order to keep our holds as clean as possible we ask that when entering or leaving a climbing area you re-sanitize your hands, during climbing we ask you use only liquid chalk and If your using the toilets do not wear your rock shoes!

Be considerate when you’re not climbing or having a rest please leave the climbing area so there’s more room for others to have a climb

If you have booked an instructed session such as a taster session on our main wall, out of respect for our staff working with you we ask you to please bring a face covering and keep your social distance during your session.

Due to our centers max capacity you may be asked to wait outside for a short spell If we are at full capacity. Booking online is the best way to avoid this but please arrive on time, if you’re too early there may be no space for you just yet.

Please remember at this time you cannot bring spectators into the wall as we have strict a capacity limit. However café altitude has a large viewing window over the main wall for those wishing to purchase a coffee or other drink/cake!

Thank you for your help, and we look forward to seeing you at the wall!
