  • Wansfell Pike Guided Walk

Wansfell Pike is one of Adventure Peaks’ shorter Lake District Guided Walks and its proximity to the shop makes it an ideal spot for an afternoon ramble. Although Wansfell is lower than most of our other walks, it boasts spectacular views over Windermere and the Troutbeck valley. It is slightly higher than its neighbour; Loughrigg, and is home to Stock Ghyll Force, the beautifully impressive river and waterfalls that run through Ambleside.

We begin the Guided Walk from the Adventure Peaks shop and walk up Stock Ghyll, taking in the stunning waterfalls along the way. As we cross the river and come through the forest we make our way up to Wansfell Pike. The view over Windermere is breathtaking. On our return to Ambleside we cross more waterfalls, disused quarries and the graceful Skelgill Wood and Stencher Beck.
