The ghyll scramble requires two people to run. There is a maximum number of 8 people allowed for this activity.

Ghyll scrambling is one of the best activities to do in the Lake District, do it once and you will want more! From the car park it’s just a 15 minute walk up the hill to reach the enter point for the ghyll. We then work our way back down to the road via naturally formed slippy slides crossing pools and why not take a spin in the washing machine… We use a range of ghylls suitable for all, from families to young children to adults only. Wetsuits, buoyancy aids and helmets provided, you just come in base clothing you don’t mind getting wet.

Please note, under 18s must be accompanied by a parent/responsible adult. The parent/responsible adult does not need to participate in the activity but must walk up the path at the side of the ghyll.

For returning customers we can use different ghylls if you let us know in advance where you have been.

Kit provided:

• Wetsuit
• Buoyancy aid
• Helmet

Kit you need to bring:

• Appropriate footwear for the gorge (e.g. old trainers that can get wet or wetsuit shoes)
• Swimwear and baselayer to wear under wetsuit
• Shorts to wear over the wetsuit
• Towel
• Warm clothing
• Snacks
• Water bottle
• Waterproof case for phone/waterproof camera
