Private Intro to Scrambling

Service Description

Our full day Introduction to Lake District Scrambling course aims to get you experiencing some classic Lake District routes in a safe, educational environment. Escape the crowds by taking the fun way up to your favourite summits, learning how to safely navigate steep ground using careful footwork and simple rock-climbing skills. This course is designed for groups of 1-3 people. For larger groups, please get in touch. You should have experience of hill walking, have a good head for heights and steeper terrain and a reasonable level of fitness. The severity of the scrambles undertaken will be tailored to the group's present ability. Scrambling can be undertaken in most weather conditions. Our instructors will endeavour to make the best use of the conditions to give you an enjoyable and rewarding day out. WHAT TO BRING: - Walking boots (waterproof recommended)  - Clothing suitable for walking (no jeans)  - Rucksack (waterproof liner recommended)  - Waterproof jacket and trousers  - Warm layer, hat and gloves - Sun hat, sun glasses and sun cream  - Water bottle (minimum 1 litre) - Food (packed lunch and snacks)  - Head torch (charged) - Any personal medication including Epipens  This list is mandatory year round. If you are missing any items please get in touch. Arriving to a Mountain Skills Course without these items may result in you being turned away. Your instructor will have all navigation equipment necessary.
