
LAKE DISTRICT GUIDED WALKS
Our Lake District Guided Walks are aimed at hikers who would like to explore the Lake District fells under our expert guidance without the need for navigation skills and lots of mountain experience. Our hikes range from short 'easy' graded walks, to summiting the highest mountain in England.
GENERAL INFORMATION
Public Walks (April - October)
For 12 years + with a good level of fitness.
All children must be accompanied by an adult.
Our Public Walks follow a set route (all listed below), starting at 9am.
If you can't see your desired walk in our calendar, get in touch to see if we can schedule it for you.
*These walks require 4 participants to run.
Private Walks (Year Round)
Private Walks can run anywhere in the Lake District, just
get in touch to let us plan your adventure!
Kids aged 6+ are welcome as part of a private group.

Grade 1, 4-5 hours, Ambleside

WALKING ROUTES
The below information is general guidance intended to give you a better idea of what each hike entails.

GRADE 1
Duration: Around 4-5 hours
Terrain: Mostly well-established paths with some uneven terrain
Distance: 10-12km
Ascent: Up to 400m
Requirements: Good level of fitness
Grade 1 Hikes:

GRADE 4
Duration: Around 8 hours
Terrain: Rocky, steep and unstable
Distance: Up to 18km
Ascent: Up to 1000m
Requirements: High level of fitness, comfortable on technical mountain terrain
Grade 4 Hikes:

GRADE 2
Duration: Around 6-7 hours
Terrain: Rocky, steep and challenging in short sections
Distance: Up to 18km
Ascent: Up to 1000m
Requirements: Good level of fitness
Grade 2 Hikes:

GRADE 5
Duration: Around 8 hours
Terrain: Rocky, steep and unstable
Distance: Up to 20km
Ascent: Up to 1000m
Requirements: High level of fitness, comfortable on technical mountain terrain with heights/exposure
Grade 5 Hikes:

GRADE 3
Duration: Around 7-8 hours
Terrain: Rocky, steep and challenging in large sections
Distance: Up to 18km
Ascent: Over 1000m
Requirements: Good level of fitness
Grade 3 Hikes:

WHAT TO BRING
This list is mandatory year round. If you are missing any items please get in touch.
Arriving to a walk without these items may result in you being turned away.
Your guide will be carrying navigation equipment, an emergency communication device, and a full first aid kit.
