Public Esk Gorge Scrambling

Full Day Ghyll Scrambling

6 hr
80 British pounds

Meeting Point: Hardknott Pass One of the biggest and most intense gorge scramble in the Lake District, Esk Gorge is not for the faint of heart! The gorge sources its water straight from the base of the tallest mountain in England, Scafell Pike. A combination of beautiful isolated views and increasingly dramatic tall jumps, the Esk makes for a day never to be forgotten!  The ghyll is best suited to those with ghyll scrambling experience and a reasonable level of fitness. The walk in & out is a one hour trek along a well-trodden footpath to the end of the Eskdale valley. You will be provided with all safety gear & a wetsuit. Your guide will have a waterproof bag for any medication. Any technology is bought along at your own risk! The minimum age for this activity is 12 years old on a public booking, but younger kids are welcome in private groups. Spectators are welcome - you can walk alongside the majority of the gorge; you cannot always see the action but there are plenty of great photo-taking opportunities. THIS ACTIVITY REQUIRES A MINIMUM OF 3 PARTICIPANTS TO RUN.
